Meet "The Gang"

Montana Mist -

She's a paint/quarter horse cross and she barrel races like there's no tomorrow. Seriously, she has one need for speed. Even when she's pmsing, which is ALL the time, she still wants to run her heart out. She's also obsessed with food, but who isn't?

Misty's Updates: 02-04-05

Just pointing out that Misty looks like a mule in this above picture. Really, she doesn't. She has a very delicate almost arabain shaped head. Very pretty mare. Let's see...I rode Misty on Wednesday. It was finally nice enough out and the mud was gone so we could run a few patterns of barrels and poles. We also worked on slow lopes, right leads, and some jumping. I love my pony. She just tries so hard for me. She's also been giving me a lot of respect lately and I am so happy for that. Hopefully, I can do some work with her this weekend. Last weekend, dad and I rode up to The Mountain where I worked with her riding away from other horses. Normally with Misty, I have to seperate her in the summer from the other horses because we show so much. She is herd bound and so we worked on that. I have a phobia of steep banks now because this summer, Misty reared over backwards off of one and that scared me. I wasn't hurt (I landed in a hole), but the fact that I wasn't in control with that happened scared me the most. Misty was so good though this weekend. She had a few issues, but we worked through them very easily.

Whistey Curly Top

Curly is a monstrous white Morab. He looks a lot like the beauty (the horse, not Johnny) from the Man Who Cried. He's my retired barrel racer, but there is still A LOT of go-go-go in him. He thinks that the boogieman lives in the trees, but don't doubt the great Curly.

Curly's Updates: 02-04-05

Curly is as he always has been. He is keeping weight extremely well...probably one of the best keepers there is. I haven't worked with him much, as he is retired. But dad rode him on the cattle drive beginning of Christmas Break and Curly did well. You can depend on the horse for anything. He's still a calf though and paced the fence the whol entire time dad and I rode up to The Mountain.

Merry Man's Apollo

He's possessed. Actually, he's a sweetie - well, 50% of the time. He's a Tennessee Walking Horse, and I've taught him to shake, bow, and that thing you do when you sit on his back...

Opie's Updates: 02-04-03

Dad took Opie to the Mountain. The horse crowhopped a bit, but nothing serious. He also has the worse footing I have ever seen. Perhaps it is because he is still light and young. He got out the other day and I had to catch him and put him in the training corral. Normally, he makes a game out of it and tires to bite and kick me (we hate each other, did I mention that?), but this time he was sooo good. I think a miracle is happening...or he's maturing.

Luck of the Draw

Jack is my best bud. He's only a little colt, but pure black with white stockings and a devil's blaze and unbelievable spirit. He acts like he's drunk half the time; hence his name, but I love him to death.

Jack's Updates: 02-04-05

Good Ol' Jack. He's such a sweetie. I can't wait till I break him. I've begun to work on getting him used to the blanket, saddle, and bridle. Then I will drive him. Hopefully summer will come soon I have more time to work with this little guy.
